VERO BEACH, Fla. — Marjorie Ann Jocham, 92, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2022, at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Memorial Hospital in Vero Beach, Fla.
Marge was born in Jersey City, the youngest of eleven children. She spent her early years there and in Staatsburg, N.Y., her family’s country house. Marge was a proud graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Hoboken, N.J. in 1948. After high school she attended The Laboratory Institute of Fashion Merchandise and went onto work at Chase National Bank in New York City.
Marge married the love of her life, Bob, on November 20, 1954, and started their family of eight children soon after. She, Bob, and the family led an active lifestyle including skiing around the world from their base camps in the Berkshires and Vail, Colorado. A full supporter of her husband’s sporting and business interests, Marge and Bob traveled across the country and around the world.
After her eight children were grown and settled, Marge was able to pursue two other loves: the sun and the beach. This led her to Florida; first to Satellite Beach and ultimately to Vero Beach. She spent her winters there and summers up in Malden Bridge. Marge, always the social butterfly, loved having lots of visitors, and spending time with family - especially when any of her 17 grandchildren came to visit. Wherever Marge was, she loved her long walks, taking her grandchildren (and children) for lots of ice cream and soaking up the sun.
Marge was a communicant at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach, and St. Mary’s in Nassau.
Marge is survived by seven of her children, their spouses and children as well as 11 great-grandchildren: the late Robert Jocham Jr. who passed away on June 27, 2021, his wife, Karen of Orlando, Fla. and their child, Christen; Marybeth Hursa and her husband, Peter of Malden Bridge, and their children, Chad and Drew; Selene Southard and her husband, Christopher of Malden Bridge, and their children, Sarah, Colin and Tristan; Edward Jocham and his wife, Kathy of Annville, Pa., and their children, Andrew and Emily; Andrew Jocham and his wife, Karin of Campbelltown, Pa. and their children, Jude, Christian and Grace; Christopher Jocham and his wife, Julie of Eagle, Idaho, and their children, Tyler and Tucker; Marjorie
