FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla.

— Ann Adams Wilber, 91 of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., passed away on December 17, 2021. She was born Ann Duane Adams in Albany, N.Y., to the late Paul E. and Elsa F. Adams.

Ann graduated from Columbia High School in 1948, and earned her bachelor’s degree in 1952, from the New York State College for Teachers at Albany, now known as SUNY Albany. She was married on June 5, 1954, in Albany, to the late Dorance K. Wilber. In addition to being a dedicated mother and wife, Ann worked for NYS as a supervisor in the Regents External Degree program. She lived in the towns of Schodack and East Greenbush, N.Y., before moving to Dunedin, Fla., in 1987. In Florida, she worked for the St. Petersburg College bookstore, and then in retirement volunteere­d for the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce, where she was awarded "volunteer of the year" by the city. Ann was an avid reader, who kept extensive notebooks on all the books she read, as well as an artist. She loved painting with watercolor­s and acrylic. She was predecease­d by her husband of 46 years, Dorance K. Wilber, and her sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Richard Peverly, and Jane and Ralf Miller. She is survived by her five children, Nancy Humphrey of Niceville, Fla., David Wilber (Christine) of East Greenbush, N.Y., Sandra O’Dell (Dale) of Lincoln, R.I., John Wilber (Ann) of Walnut Creek, Calif., and James Wilber of East Greenbush. In addition, she is survived by eight grandchild­ren, Andrew Humphrey, Sean Humphrey (Kristin), Justin Humphrey, Jeffery Spencer (Anne), David Wilber Jr., Bethany Peloquin (Josh), Ashley Ouellette (Dan), Ryan O’Dell; and six greatgrand­children, Lucy Humphrey, Audrey Humphrey, Bobby Spencer, Finley Spencer, Brooke Peloquin, and Olivia Ouellette.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on April 23, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Shalimar, Fla. Interment will be at the Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, Fla.
