Arrest made in 2021 Broadway gunfire
ALBANY — A driver who led officers on a chase Friday evening was responsible for a shotsfired incident on Nov. 6, city police said Saturday.
At 5:25 p.m., police tried to stop a man driving near Third Avenue and Delaware Street to ask him about the shotsfired incident. When the driver refused to stop, he led police on a chase west along Second Avenue. Police stopped the pursuit as the man fled on foot. He was apprehended. He was driving with a suspended license, and was charged with unlawfully fleeing a police officer and aggravated unlicensed driving, and vehicle and traffic violations, police said.
He was also charged in a shots-fired incident at 2 a.m. Nov. 6 near Broadway and Lawn Avenue. No one was injured. Police said detectives determined the man, 36, fired several rounds from a 9mm handgun toward vehicles. The suspect is also charged with criminal possession of a weapon counts and reckless endangerment.
He was arraigned Saturday morning and jailed.
