FireWolves have off offensive night
Albany only scores two goals after the first quarter in loss
The Albany FireWolves’ offense was held to a season-low in goals in a 15-6 defeat against the host New York Riptide on Saturday in a National Lacrosse League contest at Nassau Live Center in Uniondale.
The FireWolves’ attack started strong with four goals in the opening quarter but after taking a 4-3 advantage, the offense went cold. The Riptide outscored Albany 12-2 from there, beginning with a 5-0 blanking of the FireWolves in the second quarter.
Albany never threatened in the second half as its record dropped to 6-9 with only three games left to play in the regular season.
Reilly O’Connor was the only FireWolves player with multiple goals, leading the offense with two, and Joe Resetarits had a goal and four assists to highlight the Albany stat sheet.
Callum Crawford scored four goals and had three assists and Connor Kearnan chipped in with two goals and three assists for New York, which improved to 4-8 on the season.
The FireWolves head out west and over the border next Saturday to play the Vancouver Warriors.
