Fast start paces Pats to easy victory

The Albany Patroons claimed their fourthstra­ight win, coasting past the Pennsylvan­ia Kings 112-90 on Saturday in The Basketball League action at Washington Avenue Armory in Albany.

The Patroons set the tone early, beginning the game with a 17-0 run. Albany never trailed in the contest and cruised to the finish to move to 7-1 on the year. Pennsylvan­ia dropped its fifth consecutiv­e game and the loss dropped it to 1-6.

AJ Mosby paced the Patroons’ offense again, scoring a game-high 23 points, while Victor Nickerson added 22 points and five steals.

Mike Williams chipped in with 16 points and seven rebounds for Albany.

Travaun Coad had 16 points and Montell McRae scored 15 points to lead the Kings’ offense.

The Patroons take on the London Lightning of the NBL Canada at 7 p.m. Thursday in Albany in their next game. The Patroons play at Massachuse­tts on Friday.
