Sanchez scores to lead LAFC past Orlando

Opoku, Murillo and Rodriguez also find net for undefeated L.A.

Ilie Sanchez scored for Los Angeles FC on Saturday in a 4-2 victory over Orlando City.

Sanchez put LAFC (4-0-1) ahead for good at 3-2 in the 51st minute.

LAFC also got one goal each from Kwadwo Opoku, Jesus Murillo and Brian Rodriguez.

Alexandre Pato and Joao Moutinho racked up one goal each for Orlando (2-2-2).

New York 1, New England 0: Matt Polster scored the decisive own goal while Carlos Miguel stopped five shots as the New York Red Bulls earned a victory over the New England Revolution. Polster’s error came in the first minute of second-half stoppage time the Red Bulls (3-1-1) secured the win. The Red Bulls outshot the Revolution (1-3-1), 12-10. Both teams had five shots on goal.

Montreal 4, Cincinnati 3: Joaquin Torres’ goal was pivotal for Montreal in a win against Cincinnati. Torres’ winner came in the 67th minute to put Montreal (1-3-1) on top 4-3. Kei Kamara assisted the goal. Montreal also got two goals from Djordje Mihailovic and one more from Kamara. Brandon Vazquez, Alistair Johnston and Luciano Acosta scored one goal each for Cincinnati (2-4-0). Nashville 1, Columbus 0: Joe Willis delivered a four-save shutout while Alex Muyl scored a pivotal goal in Nashville’s win over the Columbus Crew. Muyl’s game-winner came in the 28th minute to seal the win for Nashville (2-2-1).

Taylor Washington got an assist on the goal. The Crew (2-1-2) outshot Nashville 8-5.

Colorado 1, Salt Lake 1: Lalas Abubakar scored the tying goal for the Colorado Rapids in a tie with Real Salt Lake. Abubakar’s goal came in the 56th minute for the Rapids (2-1-2). Pablo Ruiz scored the lone goal for RSL.

Philadelph­ia 2, Charlotte 0: Julian Carranza’s goal helped lead the Philadelph­ia Union to a victory over Charlotte FC. Carranza put the Union (4-0-1) ahead for good at 1-0 in the fourth minute. Sergio Santos got an assist on the goal. The Union also got one goal from Daniel Gazdag. The Union outshot Charlotte (2-4-0) 9-7.

Chicago 0, Dallas 0: Gabriel Slonina made one save for the Chicago Fire in a draw against Dallas. The Fire (2-0-3) outshot Dallas (2-1-2) 5-2, with zero shots on goal to one for Dallas.

Austin 2, San Jose 2: Cade Cowell scored the equalizer for the San Jose Earthquake­s in a draw with Austin. Marcos Lopez played a corner kick that was redirected by Jan Gregus and Cowell split a pair of defenders to put away a left-footed finish from pointblank range for the Earthquake­s (0-3-2) in the 72nd minute. Maximilian­o Urruti and Sebastian Driussi scored one goal each for Austin (2-1-2).

Seattle 2, Minnesota 1: Brent Kallman’s own goal led to a win for the Seattle Sounders over Minnesota United. Seattle’s Jordan Morris ran onto a one-touch pass by Cristian Roldan and raced down the left side before playing a low cross in front of the net that Kallman redirected into the net in the 49th minute to put the Sounders (2-2-1) on top 2-0. The Sounders also got a goal from Joao Paulo. Emanuel Reynoso scored the lone goal for United (2-1-2). Note: New England Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner is sidelined with a hairline fracture in his right foot.
