ALBANY — Douglas Francis Weis, 80, a lifelong resident of Albany, passed away at his home on March 19, 2022.

He was the son of the late Frederick T. Weis Sr. and Elizabeth M. (Flanagan) Weis. Douglas was a graduate of Philip Schuyler High School in Albany, and was employed by New York State Workers’ Compensati­on Board for 30 years, retiring with formal expression­s of appreciati­on. Doug enjoyed attending classic car exhibition­s and dining with friends at area restaurant­s, as well as attending activities and gatherings at Woodstock.

He is survived by his devoted brother, Frederick T. Weis Jr. and sister-in-law, Ann Marie Sausville Weis of Phoenixvil­le, Pa.; and cousins, Joan M. Sherlock of Troy, Geri Dydych (Michael) of Latham, and Katie Sherlock of Watervliet. He is also survived by a loving family who always included him in their holidays and special occasions, and by many lifelong friends, particular­ly Joseph Guay of Cohoes, and Michael Poskanzer of Albany.

A calling hour will be held on Wednesday, April 6, from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell St., Albany. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m.
