Donate food for the community on May 1

EAST GREENBUSH — A drive-thru nonperishable food drop-off event is 9 a.m. to noon May 1 at First United Methodist Church of East Greenbush, 1 Gilligan Road.

Toiletries, reusable bags, peanut butter, jelly (in plastic containers), coffee, creamer and sugar are particularly needed. Items will be given to residents of the Stratton V.A. Medical Center in Albany and to Concerns-U Food Pantry, which serves the city and southern and rural areas of Rensselaer County.
