Gallagher, Joseph

SELKIRK — Joseph J. Gallagher, 80, passed away on April 9, 2022, with family by his side.

He was the son of the late George and Angeline Gallagher and the loving husband of 51 years to the late Charlotte (Lambert) Gallagher, whom he so desperately missed.

Joseph was a retiree of the Laborers’ Local 190, an avid fisherman, and rarely missed completing a weekly crossword puzzle. He was a skilled handyman who enjoyed helping people whenever he could with projects around their home. His earlier years were spent camping and snowmobiling with family and friends. If you were close to him he more than likely taught you how to do something.

Survivors include his daughter, Rebecca Gallagher; grandsons, Devun Nolan, Connor and Jameson Healey; great-granddaughter, Tessa Nolan-Smith; siblings, George Gallagher (Pat), Jack Gallagher (Marjorie), Mike Gallagher (Mary Lou Norton); sisters-in-law, Patricia Gallagher and Carol Beck, and many nieces, nephews and loving in-laws. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Joanne Murphy, and Chris Gallagher; and motherin-law Elizabeth Counts.

Calling hours will be from 3 - 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, at the funeral home. Burial and a graveside service will be at 10 a.m. on April 25, in Elmwood Cemetery.
