People will never go for more nuclear

-

Recent coverage of the Climate Action Council has focused on the prospect of nuclear power for electricity generation ("Climate action proposal challenged," April 16). The proponents of nuclear use creative accounting to distort the true cost of such projects. Ask the people of South Carolina who are burdened with $9 billion in expenses for a failed project to build two such reactors. They do have a hole in the ground for their efforts. If nuclear was such a great idea, banks would be funding them and people who advocate for them would be putting them in their own backyards (and digging up the uranium out of their front yards and living beside the mess). The only way these reactors will be built is against the will of the people and the failure of the sanity of the decision-makers.
