MARY BETH HONSINGER
OF CATSKILL has worked to prioritize mental health through grassroots advocacy and education. She got involved with the National Alliance on Mental Illness when her son was diagnosed with early onset mental illness. She has provided countless hours in community service, offering compassionate support and hope to over 100 families by facilitating NAMI family support groups and teaching NAMI classes to 1,000 family members and peers. She has collaborated with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and veterans groups, including at the Stratton V.A. Medical Center in Albany. Living with depression and anxiety herself, Honsinger inspires others that recovery is possible and not to give up hope.
