Carol Peters (McCarthy) lives a perfectly ordinary life. It sometimes seems as though nothing exciting will ever happen, but then one day her home network system begins interactin­g with her in the voice of her favorite celebrity, James Corden. The super-intelligen­t being is great: it erases Carol’s student debt, deposits $10 million into her bank account and even gets her back with her ex-boyfriend, George (Cannavale). Everything appears to be going Carol’s way until the AI’s real intentions come to light — one of which is destroying humankind. Now Carol has to convince her James Corden sound-alike that the human race is really worth saving.
