Art collaboration, installation unveiling
GLOVERSVILLE — The 1,000 Cranes Community Art Project was unveiled April 23 at AGORA Marketplace, 50 N. Main St.
In many cultures the crane symbolizes balance, prosperity, peace and good fortune and the community art project’s aim was to create a collective wish of good health and good fortune for all of Fulton County.
The project had invited the community to create the paper folding on their own, with other social groups or on Saturdays at the AGORA Marketplace.
Participants included groups from the nursing home, Girl Scout troops, church groups, senior social clubs and some people who just came in for a cup of coffee on Saturday mornings and making a crane to contribute.
