O’Brien, Nancy A.

ALBANY — Nancy A. O’Brien, 84, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022.

She was born in Troy on October 21, 1937, to Leo and Ruth Cherney. After graduating from high school, Nancy went to work for the State of New York, retiring after 30 years of service. Nancy was a loving wife, and a devoted daughter, sister, and aunt. She took wonderful care of her mother Ruth in her home, and when she was moved to Baptist Nursing Home, Nancy spent every day with her. She enjoyed traveling with her beloved husband Joe and they saw many shows together.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph O’Brien; and her parents, Leo and Ruth Cherney. Nancy is survived by her sister, Sandra Szmyr; sister-in-law, Geraldine Keohan; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews, all of whom loved her dearly.

A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High St., Ballston Spa. Relatives and friends are invited
