Lake Homes Realty, a company based in Birmingham, Ala., sells water front property and only water front property. CEO Glenn Phillips' approach is to match sellers with buyers who might be coming from the next town over or from the other side of the globe. Lake Homes produces a Lake Real Estate Market Report each year, examining demand in 32 states based on data from multiple listing services. In New York, the 2021 report showed Lake Champlain is the biggest market, although it shrank from $147 million in winter, 2021 to $92 million this spring. It is followed by Lake George ($69 million) and Skaneateles Lake ($58 million). Lake Placid and Saratoga Lake are also in the top 10.
