Best Of nominations end Friday
Nominations will soon come to a close for this year’s Best of the Capital Region contest.
Friday is the last day to submit your nominations in 100 categories within five groups, including dining out, which includes 30 categories; entertainment and leisure, with 19 categories; services, 29 categories; shopping, 15 categories; and best of the rest, seven categories. Thirteen of those categories are new, including best tacos, best chiropractor, best DJ, best local actor and best local historic site.
Also new this year: We’re setting geographic borders. This is, in part, due to the success of our Hudson Valley’s Best contest that debuted last year. So for 2023, Best of the Capital Region nominations must be in Albany, Columbia, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren and Washington counties in New York, or Berkshire County in Massachusetts.
Make your nominations at timesunion.com/ bestof2023.
Remember, your favorite people, places and businesses can’t move on to the voting round unless they’re in the top five after nominations are tallied. Voting starts Monday, Feb. 20, and continues through Friday, March 3, also on the same website.
An added incentive: By making even one nomination, you are giving yourself a chance to win $1,000. The more nominations you make for the 100 categories, the more chances you give yourself to win. We will give $1,000 each to two randomly selected people — one who submitted a nomination and one who votes in this year's poll.
