Olivia Record, Cambridge, has been named valedictorian and Kobe McManus, Cambridge, salutatorian at Cambridge Central School District.
National Merit Scholarship winners
Terence C. Coughlin, Albany, Colonie Central High School, Albany; Emily Zhou, Clifton Park, Shenendehowa High School, Clifton Park; Theodore J. Howard, East Greenbush, Columbia High School, East Greenbush; and Jongmyeong Sung, Latham, Shaker High School, Latham will each receive a $2,500 scholarship from the National Merit Scholarship Corp.

Stark will head to the SkillsUSA National Championship in June in Atlanta.
College awards and honors
Carlotta Batchelder, Gansevoort; Morgan Manning, Albany; Sade Miller, Schenectady and Caroline Shaver, Queensbury, all students at SUNY Oneonta, were recognized for their sustainability efforts on campus, as part of the new Green Dragon Recognition Program.
Renee Zieske, Altamont, won second place riding the Intro Tests on Team A, in an Intercollegiate Dressage Association Show held at the James L. Child Equestrian Complex, University of Findlay, Findlay, Ohio.
John Furgele, Delmar, and Alexander Headley, Rensselaer, students at SUNY Oneonta, were among six students at the college who won the highest possible honor at the 2023 National Model United Nations conference April 10-14 in New York City.
Katherine Kressner, Gansevoort, a student at SUNY Cortland, had her artwork displayed at Student Select 2023 on campus.
Robert Lang, Schoharie, a student at SUNY Oneonta, has received the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence, the highest honor that SUNY bestows upon students.
Arianna Marcucci, Delanson, a student at Albright College, Reading, Pa., presented a paper titled, “Cars: The Death of America?” at the 24th annual Berks County Undergraduate Research and Creativity Conference in April.
Teddy Morey, Saratoga Springs, a student at SUNY Potsdam, made virtual presentations to judges in the International Business Ethics Case Competition held at the college.
Jennifer Shields, Latham, a student at SUNY Oneonta, earned the National Tutor Association Level 1 Certification.
Parmesh Thakoordial, a senior at Schenectady High School and a science major at SUNY Schenectady through the Schenectady Smart Transfer Early College High School program, has been named to the All-USA Academic Team, comprised of the nation’s top community college students. He is one of only 20 college students from across the country named to the academic team. Parmesh received a $5,000 scholarship and a medallion.

Emma Klindtworth, Schenectady, a student at Stonehill College, Easton, Mass., was inducted into Lambda Epsilon Sigma, the college’s honor society which recognizes outstanding juniors and seniors.
Ben Kniskern, Burnt Hills, a student at St. Lawrence University, Canton, was selected for Pi Mu Epsilon, the mathematics honorary society.
Ellie Zenner, Niskayuna, a student at Elmira College, has been initiated into Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society for students in the top one-third of their class and who have demonstrated leadership experience.
