ROTTERDAM — Heath Scott Cohen, 52 of Rotterdam, died on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at the Ellis Hospital in Schenectad­y. Heath was the son of Paula Cohen Rosenblat of Watervliet, and the late Larry Cohen. He was a graduate of the Albany Academy for Boys and attended Hudson Valley Community College. Heath was a well-known musician in the Capital District and was an accomplish­ed drummer. Through the years, Heath was a member of many local bands. He was also an avid motorcycle enthusiast. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his brother, Michael Cohen (Jamie Childs-Cohen); a sister, Kimberly Cohen Phillips (Eric) of Rotterdam; and his stepbrothe­rs, Heath Rosenblat of Queens, and Dr. Todd Rosenblat (Laura) of Ridgewood, N.J. He was the uncle of Liliana and Mackenzie Cohen and Madeleine and Nate Rosenblat; and nephew of Yvette and Alan Gebell of Niskayuna and Mark (Susan) Morganster­n of Rosendale, N.Y. He is also survived by his cousins, Meredith Gebell, Elaine (Phil Sparer) Gebell and their son, Max Sparer; Luke Morganster­n and his son, Jack Faris; Lily (Sean Kelley) Morganster­n and their son, Asa; and Harry Dorsey. Services will be at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Ave., Albany on Sunday, May 14, at 10:30 a.m. Friends are respectful­ly invited. Interment will follow services in the Ohav Shalom Cemetery on Church Road in Guilderlan­d. Following the burial, a celebratio­n of Heath’s life will be held at The Hilton Garden Inn on Washington Avenue in Albany. Those wishing to remember Heath in a special way may make a memorial contributi­on to the American Cancer Society.
