Cohen, Heath Scott
ROTTERDAM — Heath Scott Cohen, 52 of Rotterdam, died on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at the Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Heath was the son of Paula Cohen Rosenblat of Watervliet, and the late Larry Cohen. He was a graduate of the Albany Academy for Boys and attended Hudson Valley Community College. Heath was a well-known musician in the Capital District and was an accomplished drummer. Through the years, Heath was a member of many local bands. He was also an avid motorcycle enthusiast. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his brother, Michael Cohen (Jamie Childs-Cohen); a sister, Kimberly Cohen Phillips (Eric) of Rotterdam; and his stepbrothers, Heath Rosenblat of Queens, and Dr. Todd Rosenblat (Laura) of Ridgewood, N.J. He was the uncle of Liliana and Mackenzie Cohen and Madeleine and Nate Rosenblat; and nephew of Yvette and Alan Gebell of Niskayuna and Mark (Susan) Morganstern of Rosendale, N.Y. He is also survived by his cousins, Meredith Gebell, Elaine (Phil Sparer) Gebell and their son, Max Sparer; Luke Morganstern and his son, Jack Faris; Lily (Sean Kelley) Morganstern and their son, Asa; and Harry Dorsey. Services will be at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Ave., Albany on Sunday, May 14, at 10:30 a.m. Friends are respectfully invited. Interment will follow services in the Ohav Shalom Cemetery on Church Road in Guilderland. Following the burial, a celebration of Heath’s life will be held at The Hilton Garden Inn on Washington Avenue in Albany.
