LOUDONVILL­E — John “Jack” F. Cyran entered eternal life on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, in the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital with his wife and son by his side.

Born on December 5, 1946, he was the son of the late John and Helen McCormick Cyran. He attended Shaker High School, Junior College of Albany, and graduated from Russell Sage College.

Jack was employed by Al Tech Specialty Steel in the accounting and computer department until its’ closing. He retired from the N.Y.S. Office of Children and Family Services. Jack was a Yankees and Giants fan and enjoyed attending the games with his son, Jon. He loved playing golf and gardening, which was reflected each year with a plentiful vegetable garden and backyard filled with flowers. He and Sally enjoyed their spring and fall trips to Ogunquit, Maine and summer visits to the Saratoga Race Track. Jack’s entire family considered him the master of the grill. He was a past member and volunteer with the Colonie Elks and a member of the Joseph E. Zaloga American Legion Post.

He was the husband of almost 55 years to Sally Jaworski Cyran; loving father of Jonathan Cyran; brother-in-law of Marcia Ditch (late Tom Ditch) and Sister Melanie Jaworski; godfather of Andrea Holbok (Michael); and uncle of Dr. Thomas Ditch (Rose and her daughter Serenity), and beloved Stella and Michael Holbok.

Jack appreciate­d the friendship and support of his friend, Larry Dillon. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial funeral Mass on Tuesday, May 16, at 9 a.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave., (Father John Bradley Way) Albany. The Rite of Committal will be held in Memory Gardens Cemetery immediatel­y following the funeral Mass.
