SAVE HUNDREDS THIS HEATING SEASON WITH MAIN-CARE ENERGY’S CAPPED PRICE PROTECTION PROGRAM

- By Alyssa Seidman

A leading fuel provider in the Capital Region is continuing to look out for its customers’ best interests with the rollout of an annual program that has saved enrollees millions of dollars on heating costs.

Coming off the heels of an unseasonably warm winter, Main-Care Energy’s Capped Price Protection Program ensures enrollees are safeguarded from fluctuations in the energy market. With an array of payment options to choose from, customers are guaranteed to pay the lowest prices for fuel with a plan that’s most convenient for them. Both heating oil and propane can be covered.

“Most companies offer a fixed price that doesn’t offer the customer true protection,” Vice President of Corporate Services Gregory Childs said.“However, with our program you’re paying for insurance that gives you a ceiling with the capped price. It will never go higher than that price, but when the prices do drop they’re able to get the benefits of a declining market.”

Last heating season, Main-Care’s Capped Price customers saved millions compared to average pricing from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority.

Enrollment for the 2023-24 heating season (July 1, 2023-June 30, 2024) is now open. Customers can select from one of three payment plans: pre-pay, extended prepay, and annual budget. The pre-pay plan requires a one-time payment while the extended pre-pay requires four equal payments. The annual budget option is a monthly payment plan.

“With the pre-pay plan you get a better price per gallon, and there’s no minimum usage penalties,” Childs noted.“Whatever credit balance you have left over is yours to keep.” Childs said those who are interested in becoming a Capped Price customer should call Main-Care to discuss their needs. An employee will perform an on-site inspection of the tank to make sure everything is safe and up to code.

Main-Care’s residential heating oil customers are also eligible for a 10-cent per gallon tax credit on their New York State income tax due to the company’s use of Bioheat. This organic, renewable alternative to traditional heating oil keeps systems in better shape for the long haul. Childs noted that 100 percent of the heating oil sold by Main-Care includes a bio component. “Bioheat helps households reduce their carbon footprint, and since it burns cleaner people end up using less fuel,” he added. “We’re committed to the environment and to our customers and communities and doing what’s right for them.”

Childs recommended visiting MyBioheat.com for more information about the benefits of using Bioheat to heat your home or business.

Main-Care is a one-stop shop for all your energy needs, with offices throughout Upstate New York and the Hudson Valley. The company delivers a variety of fuels including propane for home and business heating, on-road and off-road fuels, and has a HVAC division that services residential and commercial properties.
