NTT IndyCar Series: Indianapolis 500 NBC, 12:30 p.m. Live
The Greatest Spectacle in Racing, the Indianapolis 500, returns for its 108th running today at legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Josef Newgarden edged defending champion Marcus Ericsson in a dramatic finish to last year’s crash-filled race.
National Memorial Day Concert 2024
PBS, 8 p.m. Live
America’s national night of remembrance returns live from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol for a special 35th-anniversary broadcast taking us back to the real meaning of Memorial Day through personal stories and tributes interwoven with musical performances. Featuring world-renowned artists with the National Symphony Orchestra, the
annual event brings us together to honor the service of generations of our men and women in uniform, our military families and all those who have given their lives for our country.
Memorial May Specials Smithsonian Channel, beginning at 8 p.m.
This final four-hour block will cover The Day the Bomb Dropped, the definitive story of the bombing of Hiroshima; The Unknown Flag Raiser of Iwo Jima, where modern science reveals the identity of an unnamed hero in the iconic photo of the flag-raising on Iwo Jima; Breath of Freedom, a look at the Civil Rights Movement through the eyes of African American World War II vets; and lastly, an episode of Combat Ships, “Courageous Captains,” providing a look at four heroic sailors who led thrilling missions during the Civil War, World War II and Vietnam, and the warships they captained.

(Erin Krakow) and Nathan (Kevin McGarry) help Tom (Max Lloyd-Jones) out of a tight situation, and the town comes together after a setback. With encouragement from family, Joseph (Viv Leacock) heals an old rift. Gowen (Martin Cummins) counsels Lucas (Chris McNally).

This satirical series depicting the turbulent moral journey of a nameless antihero who acts as a Communist spy while exiled to America after the fall of Saigon finishes its first season. Hoa Xuande and Robert Downey Jr. star.
The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst HBO, 10 p.m. Season Finale
The follow-up to the 2015 documentary series that investigated wealthy real estate heir Robert Durst and ultimately helped convict him of murder concludes.
