Linda G. (Coons) Stud­di­ford, 74, of Defreestville, died on August 1, 2018, at the River­side Re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion Cen­ter in Castle­ton.

Born in New­burgh, N.Y., she was the daugh­ter of the late Ken­neth B. and Grace F. (Ap­ple­ton) Coons. She was the wife of An­drew D. Stud­di­ford, who pre­de­ceased her on April 10, 2018.

Linda grad­u­ated from Columbia High School, East Green­bush, class of 1961. She went on to re­ceive a de­gree in music from SUNY Fre­do­nia, N.Y., in 1965, af­ter which she taught music in pub­lic schools in Cam­den, N.Y. and Corinth. Later in life Linda worked for many years in the Wal­mart Phar­macy in North Green­bush, where cus­tomers would ask for her by name to help them out.

While liv­ing in Cam­den, Linda met the love of her life, An­drew Stud­di­ford, whom she mar­ried in 1969. Over the years, Linda and Andy could be found ev­ery week­end at their camp on Lake Abana­kee in the Adiron­dacks. Linda loved books, golf and music, and was a wicked pinochle player. She was fa­mous for her Ger­man-style baked beans and host­ing won­der­ful Thanks­giv­ing din­ners.

Linda is sur­vived by her son, Wil­liam D. Stud­di­ford of Defreestville; her brother, John K. Coons (Mary) of Da­nia Beach, Fla.; and a first cousin, Diane Brunelle of Rens­se­laer.
