U.S. middle class suffers under Trump, Republicans

-

It would be an eye-opening experience for anyone who is willing to use their DVR to record and playback President Donald Trump’s rallies. The interaction between Trump and his ardent followers is very revealing when watching everyone wildly applauding his exaggerated accomplishments that are of little benefit to average Americans.

It is most alarming to witness how the audience has been inf luenced by disproven conspiracy theories that have been continually promoted by right-wing conservative media. They hold up signs displaying Qanon, and the false theory on the shooting of Democratic staffer Seth Rich, as if they are somehow relevant.

Understand why our president’s words focus on self-praise and denials of wrongdoing. He uses the words that he believes people want to hear and will support. The demeaning and retaliatory words he expounds should give anyone cause for concern. He is making a mockery of all who are not part of his social status while admitting how well the wealthy are doing.

The policies that Trump and the far-right Republican Congress are promoting are not benefiting the middle class. They have already crippled those who need temporary government support, and I’m speaking of all Americans, not just those of foreign origins. William C. smith Malta
