Goldstock’s Sporting Goods, an independent retailer in Glenville selling sporting equipment and gear, is closed, according to their Facebook page.

Sales manager Andy Kausch confirms the shuttering.

“After 122 years in business we can proudly say that because of you, our loyal customers, we are the oldest ski shop in America,” said Kausch in a prepared statement. “With deep regret we are forced to close our doors due to circumstances beyond our control. We thank you for your many years of patronage.”

When reached via phone, Kausch spoke of a family matter that is “pending legal solution that is beyond our control.”

Kausch said he and the staff hope the closure will be temporary, but a time frame for a resolution is not clear.

“We really want to have our privacy and respect in this very problematic family issue that is going on right now,” he added.

Customers who need to pick up prepaid merchandise should email support@ goldstockssportinggoods.com.

That’s also how people who have unused gift cards should reach the store.
