BERNE — Mark W. Huth, 76, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2018, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Mark was born on December 27, 1941, in New Berlin, N.Y. to Harry and Betty (Woodruff) Huth. After graduating from high school in New Berlin, he served in the U.S. Navy as an aviation mechanic. After the Navy, he attended SUNY Oswego then taught high school industrial arts. He left teaching in 1978 to pursue a career in textbook publishing, from which he retired over 30 years later, and continued part-time until his passing.

Mark enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworkin­g, and spending time at his cabin in the Adirondack­s. He took great joy in serving his friends, neighbors, and community. He has been serving as bishop of the Schoharie Valley Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since 2014.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie (Sturges) Huth, whom he married on June 25, 1977; his sons, John (Rene), Michael (Sarah), Jeffery (Erin), and Scott (Lacey); and six grandchild­ren, Abigail, Emma, Jackson, Lily, Eden, and Preston.

A period of visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, September 29, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 141 Church St., Central Bridge, with a memorial service held immediatel­y afterward at 11 a.m.

This program sends food, clothing, medical supplies, and other emergency relief assistance to bless the lives of those with urgent needs.
