TROY — Anthony A. Gillie, 77, of 122nd St. Lansingbur­gh, died suddenly Sunday, September 23, 2018, surrounded by his loving family at Samaritan Hospital. Born in Troy, he was educated in Cohoes schools and was the son of the late Wilson and Mary Salluzzo Gillie.

Tony was retired from the Golub Corporatio­n where he had been employed for 35 years. He also was employed part time by Rensselaer County. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps.

In his retirement, Tony enjoyed spending time at the Cohoes Community Center. He also spent 28 years camping at Alps Family Camp Ground in Averill Park. He was a football enthusiast and an avid Indianapol­is Colts fan.

Tony was predecease­d by his wife, June Butler Gillie, who died last year. He is the father of Anthony J. Gillie (Debra), Shawn M. Gillie (Felipe) of Troy, Nicholas Cesario of South Carolina, Tony Cesario of Troy and the late Charlene Greene. He is the brother of David Gillie (Carol), Dorothy Bragin (Nicholas) of Troy, the late John Gillie and Margaret Aurelius. He is the grandfathe­r of Kyle, David, Kevin, Andrea, Nicholas, Mandy and Stephen; and the brother-in-law of Sandy Gillie of Cohoes. He is also survived by his nephew, Richard Aurelius and wife Jackie, who he thought of as his own son and daughter. Several other nieces and nephews also survive as well as close family friend, Ceil Moleski.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte.32), Waterford. Interment will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy.
