DELMAR — Helen R. Bubie Campbell, 90, recently of Glenmont, died Saturday, September 22, 2018, at St. Peter’s Nursing and Rehab Center, Albany.

Born in Poestenkil­l on October 7, 1927, she was the daughter of the late John Bubie and Edna Herrington Bubie. She was raised in Poestenkil­l where she resided until 1969. She was a graduate of Troy High School, class of 1944, and Troy Business College. On January 19, 1947, she married Earl G. Campbell and they enjoyed 49 years of marriage together during which they had four children.

Mrs. Campbell’s life was dedicated to serving the Lord and others. Her strong Christian faith was lived out in active church membership at the Evangelica­l Lutheran Church of Poestenkil­l where she was a Sunday school teacher and served in many other capacities. Recently, she was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Delmar where she was an active volunteer. In addition, Mrs. Campbell was dedicated to community service. When her children were young she was a den mother for the Boy Scouts and a 4H leader. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and volunteere­d at St. Peter’s Hospital and with the Town of Bethlehem.

Throughout her life, Mrs. Campbell was employed as a bookkeeper for various businesses and individual­s. She was also a former tax collector for the Town of Poestenkil­l.

Mrs. Campbell’s family was her greatest joy. She is survived by her two sons, Ronald E. Campbell of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Duane J. Campbell of Durham, N.C.; her daughter, Janice H. (Gregory) Wilsey of Ravena; her grandchild­ren, Jennifer, Scott (Stephanie), and Peter (Jacqueline) Campbell, Jill (Kevin) Fields, Rebecca (John) Feuerbach, and Sarah Wilsey; and her great-grandchild­ren, Molly and Lauren Campbell, Landon, Bryn, and Cade Campbell, Mackenzie and Will Fields, and Samuel and Hannah Feuerbach; and many nieces and nephews. She was predecease­d by her husband, Earl Campbell; her daughter, Edna Campbell; her siblings, Walter Bubie, Eleanor Dunham, William Bubie, Betty Catlin, Raymond Bubie, Alice Hodge, and Robert Bubie; and her daughters-in-law, Millie Campbell of Florida and Kay Campbell of North Carolina.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church 85 Elm Avenue, Delmar on Wednesday, September 26, from 4-7 p.m.

A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church 85 Elm Avenue, Delmar with Rev. Mark Mueller, Pastor, officiatin­g.

Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery Poestenkil­l.

The family would like to thank the staff at Atria Delmar Place for their dedicated and supportive care. They also thank the staff of 1 West at St. Peters Nursing and Rehab Center for their loving and compassion­ate care.
