DELMAR — Barbara J. Shea, 81, of Delmar passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018.

Born in Albany on October 27, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Sheldon C. and Leona M. (Bennett) Shea. She was a graduate of Bethlehem Central High School, Class of 1954 and Albany Business College. Barbara had worked for the NYS Thruway Authority and the Workers’ Compensati­on Disability Benefits Bureau prior to her retirement.

Barbara enjoyed all sports, particular­ly bowling. She also enjoyed golf, was a past member at Tall Timber, Normanside and Sycamore Country Clubs and played in the Women’s North East League. She was one of the “Bethlehem Walking Twins” and was a communican­t of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Delmar.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was predecease­d by her best friend and identical twin sister, Patricia A. Putnam. She is survived by many dear friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Pl., Delmar. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.

Contributi­ons in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny La., Latham, NY 12110 would be appreciate­d. g g y to Saratoga Rasino and spending time with her family and friends. She also loved swimming with her canine grandpups, Duke and Champ.

In addition to her parents she was predecease­d by three brothers. Eileen is survived by her children, Holli (James) Porcaro, Ronald (Kelly) Swart Jr. and Debbie (Jim) Marco; her brother, Elias "Babe" Amash. She is also survived by her grandchild­ren, Nicholas Savignano, Matthew Savignano, Anne Marie Porcaro, Anthony Porcaro, Adam Porcaro, Matthew Swart and Lucas Swart; her great-grandson, Jack Martin; and her cherished canine, Max, who has gone on to live with Holli and Jim’s best friends, John and Kathy Lubrant. A special thank you to her cousin, Betty (Ronnie), Jeanette, Arlene and the Porcaro family who have given much care and support to Eileen and her family.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie on Tuesday, September 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home and thence to St. Paul the Apostle Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow the Mass in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.

Memorial contributi­ons may be made to the Community Hospice Foundation 310 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY, 12208 in Eileen’s memory.
