Troy Po­lice vet­eran be­comes deputy chief

Daniel P. De­wolf, right, gets a hug from Capt. Matthew Mon­tanino af­ter be­ing pro­moted from Troy as­sis­tant chief of po­lice to deputy chief at Troy City Hall on Fri­day in Troy. De­wolf has been with the depart­ment since 1995. He has been serv­ing as both pa­trol and de­tec­tive bu­reau chief since his pro­mo­tion to as­sis­tant chief in Fe­bru­ary 2018. He is the co­or­di­na­tor of the city’s Project Give ini­tia­tive to re­duce or pre­vent firearm-re­lated homi­cides. At right, Mayor Pa­trick Mad­den, left, ad­min­is­ters the oath of of­fice.
