Ex-inmate accused of terror threat
BALLSTON SPA — A former Saratoga County Jail inmate is back behind bars after he called the Sheriff’s Office and threatened to “shoot up everyone” in the department, officials said.
The sheriff’s office said Michael P. Mills, 32, of Cavendish, Vt., called on Oct. 3 and said he was coming to the facility to shoot a department member. In further statements, they said, he added he would shoot everyone.
“He must have been unhappy about something,” Capt. Jeffrey Brown said Friday. The charge that landed him in jail in the first place was not available.
After the call, local authorities worked with Vermont State Police to locate Mills. On Tuesday, they took custody of him at Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield, Vt. He was taken to Milton Town Court to answer a felony charge of making a terroristic threat, and returned to jail on $10,000 bail.
