CLIFTON PARK — John N. An­der­son Jr., 49, of New Nether­land Way passed away sud­denly Wed­nes­day, Oc­to­ber 10, 2018.

Born in Troy, he was the son of John N. An­der­son Sr. and He­len Grochmal An­der­son of Water­ford. He was a 1987 grad­u­ate of Water­ford Half­moon High School and a 1992 grad­u­ate of SUNY Platts­burgh.

John had been em­ployed for the past 23 years at Transworld En­ter­tain­ment in Al­bany and served as its chief fi­nan­cial of­fi­cer for the past six years. While a stu­dent at Water­ford Half­moon High School he re­ceived the Forchilli Award for Out­stand­ing Sports­man and was also named to the Sports Hall of Fame at the school.

A giv­ing and gen­er­ous fam­ily man, he was a de­voted hus­band and fa­ther. John en­joyed boat­ing and camp­ing with his fam­ily and trav­el­ing to the Ba­hamas. He also was a golf en­thu­si­ast.

Sur­vivors in ad­di­tion to his par­ents in­clude his wife Denise Cof­fin An­der­son; his chil­dren, Brit­tany and Derek An­der­son; and his sib­lings, Kim­berly Marc­hand of Saratoga, Kris­ten Dzikas of Clifton Park, Joshua An­der­son (Amanda) of Water­ford and Karah Baj (Joe) of Me­chan­icville. He was the son-in-law of Richard and Regina John­son Cof­fin of Ed­in­burg; and brother-in-law of Chris­tine Dy­long of Am­s­ter­dam and Shelly Cof­fin (Greg) of Northville. Sev­eral nieces and neph­ews also sur­vive.

Fu­neral ser­vices will be held on Mon­day at 7 p.m. in the Blessed Vir­gin Mary Church, 250 Max­well Rd., Latham. Rel­a­tives and friends are in­vited to visit with John’s fam­ily at the church on Mon­day from 3-7 p.m. prior to the ser­vice.
