JENSEN BEACH, Fla. — John S. "Jack" Damian was born on March 9, 1927, in Albany. He was the son of Nicholas and Philomena (Destefano) Damian. John passed away at 10:49 p.m. on November 26, 2018, in hospice care in Florida.

He is survived by his wife, Antoinette (Rinella) Damian; his children, Ann Marie Damian (Jack Taylor) of Colorado, and John Damian (Joleen) of Florida; and also by his twin grandchild­ren, Gino Damian and Gianna Damian, also of Florida.

He was a veteran of World War II and served proudly to keep the peace in Germany and France in 1945. He worked most of his life for Niagara Mohawk in both Albany and Syracuse and then retired to Florida for the last 30 years of his life. He enjoyed anything to do with his family, bowling, golfing, tennis, and helping out his condo associatio­n.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with John’s family on Friday, November 30, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Lasak & Gigliotti Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany. Funeral services on Saturday, December 1, at 8:30 a.m. at the Lasak & Gigliotti Funeral Home, thence to St. Francis of Assisi, Delaware Avenue worship site at 9:30 a.m. where his funeral Mass will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal will be held in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands immediatel­y following the funeral Mass.
