Find joy on the ice
People enjoy ice skating during opening day of the ice rink at the Empire State Plaza on Friday in Albany. Free skate rentals are offered opening weekend, courtesy of Hannaford Supermarkets. A Learn to Skate Clinic will be offered on Saturday and the New York State Holiday Tree Lighting presented by SEFCU is on Sunday. Rink hours are from noon to 8 p.m., seven days a week, weather permitting. The rink is closed daily 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. for maintenance. It’s free to skate. Skate rentals are $4 for adults, $3 for children 12 and under. Every Saturday is Hannaford Free Skate Rental Saturday.
