ALBANY — Laurie Springer Brandon, 58 of Albany, concluded her battle , with cancer peacefully at home on Thursday, November 29, 2018, watched over by her family and pets.

She was predecease­d by her mother, Barbara Springer. She is survived by her father, Edward Springer, of Albany; husband, Marty Brandon of Albany; sister, Tracy Springer of Loudonvill­e; brother, James Springer of Tampa, Fla.; son, Erik Van Wely of Rotterdam; stepdaught­ers, Casey Brandon of Brooklyn and Chrissy Mumpton (Ian) of Albany; as well as by her granddaugh­ter Mary; nephew TJ Springer (Jamie) and their children, Dylan and Jacob. She also leaves behind several cousins, countless friends and her loving dogs, Jax and Lola and the late Fergal.

Laurie was a graduate of Albany High School and Hudson Valley Community College. She worked for Urbach, Kahn and Werlin, Herzog Law, and recently retired after 10 years as COO of O’connell and Aronowitz Law Firm in Albany. Upon her retirement the firm honored her by naming a conference room the “Laurie Springer Brandon Room.”

Laurie relished her work with her O&A family. She loved music, rock concerts and playing guitar with her husband Marty, as well as fashion, home decorating, cooking, reading and bling. She definitely loved bling. Lots and lots of bling. Her husband nicknamed her "Yelfie," meaning "sunshine."

Laurie was involved in numerous charitable organiza-

g tions and served on the board of Northern Rivers Parent and Child Center. She was a natural mentor and never turned down a chance to help someone, whether personally or profession­ally.

Memorial calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, December 3.
