Dal­las ral­lies in third for win

Miro Heiska­nen and Brett Ritchie scored in the third pe­riod, and the Dal­las Stars beat the San Jose Sharks 3-2 on Fri­day night for their fourth con­sec­u­tive vic­tory.

The game was tied at 1 be­fore Heiska­nen scored from the top of the right face­off cir­cle 4:38 into the third. Ritchie then got his sec­ond of the sea­son at 6:26, mak­ing it 3-1 Dal­las.

The Stars also got a solid per­for­mance from Ben Bishop, who made a sea­son-high 41 saves. Blues 1, Jets 0: Jake Allen made 26 saves and recorded his first shutout of the sea­son. Alex Steen redi­rected Colton Parayko’s shot for a power-play goal, the game’s only score. Oil­ers 7, Wild 2: Leon Drai­saitl had a pair of goals to lead Ed­mon­ton past Min­nesota. Six other play­ers had a goal apiece for the Oil­ers. Cam Tal­bot made 31 saves for the win.

Note: Cal­gary for­ward Ryan Lomberg was sus­pended for a game and coach Bill Peters fined $10,000 by the NHL for a con­fronta­tion at the end of a game with Min­nesota. Lomberg went af­ter Matt Dumba when the Wild de­fense­man steam­rolled Flames cen­ter Mikael Back­lund in the fi­nal minute of Cal­gary’s 2-0 vic­tory Thurs­day. The NHL also said that Flames cap­tain Mark Gior­dano is to have a hear­ing for knee­ing Wild cap­tain Mikko Koivu in the third pe­riod.
