Restor­ing film star air­plane

In­te­gra Op­tics CEO David Prescott stands next to his Tora 101 Ja­panese Zero replica that he is restor­ing in an Al­bany In­ter­na­tional Air­port hangar Fri­day in Colonie.

The plane was once used by the Cana­dian mil­i­tary be­fore ap­pear­ing in two Hol­ly­wood films: “Tora! Tora! Tora!” about Ja­pan’s at­tack on Pearl Har­bor and “Mid­way” about the WWII bat­tle. It also flew in the “Baa Baa Black Sheep” TV se­ries about Marine At­tack Squadron 214 . The air­craft was con­verted from a Cana­dian Car & Foundry Har­vard IV.
