COHOES — Douglas P. Dame Sr., age 73, passed away peacefully at home on December 5, 2018, with his loving wife and caretaker by his side.

He was born in Cohoes, the son of the late Regina and Roland Dame. He was predecease­d by two brothers, Roland and Kenneth Dame; and a sister Jacqueline Gerard.

Douglas was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, serving on the USS Holder. He was an avid photograph­er and computer enthusiast. He enjoyed traveling the world with his wife. Douglas retired from the N.Y.S. Public Service Commission as a senior computer programmer analyst.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Georgianna Dame; a son, Douglas Jr. and stepson, Joseph E. Paluba III. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Monday, December 10, from 10 to 11 a.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectad­y Road, Watervliet. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment with full military honors will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford.
