Lavigne, Dorothy J.

HALFMOON — Dorothy Jacon Lavigne, 89, passed away at her residence on Thursday, December 6, 2018, after a brief illness. Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Catherine Smolen Jacon; and beloved wife of the late Francis J. Lavigne.

Dorothy attended St. Michael’s School, Catholic Central High School and Albany State Teachers College. She retired from General Electric Silicone Products in 1989 after 25 years of service. Dorothy was a regular communicant of St. Mary’s Church, in Crescent. Dorothy and her husband were founding members of the Halfmoon Senior Center. She was also a regular attendee at the Cohoes Community Center Senior Swim Program and participated in G.E. Silcone and Norton Company retiree functions.

She is survived by her beloved children, Catherine (the late James) Spain of Columbia, Md., Thomas
