Mudiay misses 3-point shot at buzzer; 76ers hold on for 108-105 win
Ben Simmons fell an assist short of a triple-double with 20 points and 22 rebounds, Joel Embiid scored 26 points and the Philadelphia 76ers escaped with a 108-105 victory over the New York Knicks on Sunday.
New York’s Emmanuel Mudiay missed a potential gametying 3-pointer at the buzzer that would have sent the game into overtime.
JJ Reddick had 22 points for the 76ers, who ended a two-game skid. Philadelphia led by as many as 24 points late in second quarter before New York charged back.
Bucks 133, Hawks 114: Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 33 points, Eric Bledsoe added 24 points and 10 assists, and Milwaukee won in coach Mike Budenholzer’s return to Atlanta. Trae Young led Atlanta with 26 points. Shenendehowa graduate Kevin Huerter was 3-for-9 shooting and scored 11 points for the Hawks.
Raptors 140, Wizards 138 (2OT): Serge Ibaka hit a 3-pointer with 15 seconds left in the second overtime. Kawhi Leonard led Toronto with 41 points and 11 rebounds, and Pascal Siakim had 24 points and a careerhigh 19 rebounds. Bradley Beal had 43 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists for Washington.
Magic 115, Rockets 109: Nikola Vucevic and Aaron Gordon each scored 22 points and Orlando took advantage of James Harden’s 1-for-17 3-point shooting for Houston. Harden still scored 38 points to push his run of 30-point games to 16, making 15 of 16 free throws. He had 12 assists and nine rebounds.
Mavericks 119, Warriors 114: Stephen Curry scored 48 points, making 11 3-pointers, and Golden State held off Dallas. Kevin Durant added 28 points for the Warriors.
nuggets 116, Trail Blazers 113: Nikola Jokic scored a season-high 40 points — one off his career high — for Denver. He added 10 rebounds and eight assists. Damian Lillard led Portland with 26 points.
Cavaliers 101, lakers 95: Cedi Osman scored 20 points, Collin Sexton added 17 and Cleveland ended a 12game losing streak. Kyle Kuzma led the Lakers with 29 points.
