Thruway projects ready to begin

Callahan Industries of Albany will soon start two state Thruway infrastructure and pavement projects worth $27.2 million. Lanes south of Exit 23 (Albany–troy–rensselaer- I-787-route 9W) will be resurfaced to Exit 21 (Catskill–cairo-route 23), a busy corridor into Albany and surrounding areas. The 20-mile stretch serves more than 49,000 motorists a day, and more than 18 million motorists a year, the Thruway Authority said.
