ALBANY — Donald Harold Sommers of Albany passed away on June 2, 2019. He was predecease­d by his wife of 61 years, Miriam "Mimi" Chuckrow Sommers. He is survived by his sister, Estelle Dwore of Niskayuna; his children, Andrew, Peter and Caroline Sommers; daughter-in-law Susan Sommers; son-in-law Marcelo Barujel; nephew Bob Dwore of Saratoga Springs; and his grandchild­ren, Daryl and Sam Sommers of Colorado and Dino and Luna Barujel of New York City.

Donald was born in Albany and graduated from Milne High School in 1941 and Union College in 1947. He later went on to Albany Law School graduating in 1949. Donald built a successful law practice and was honored when his son Andrew joined his practice in 1983. He was an Army veteran and served during World War II.

Services at Congregati­on Beth Emeth, 100 Academy Road in Albany on Thursday, June 6, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow services in the Temple Israel Cemetery in Guilderlan­d. The period of mourning will be observed at the Sommers residence, 35 Milner Avenue in Albany on Thursday, June 6, from 6-9 p.m. and on Friday, June 7, from 12 to 4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Donald in a special way may make a memorial contributi­on to a charity of your choice.

She returned to her home in Glenmont after giving birth to her daughter Patricia Lynn who was the light of her life. Gloria retired from the New York State Department of Education and continued to work part-time while helping raise her three grandchild­ren, Sarah, Gregory, and Meredith.

Gloria is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Gregory Pascale of Glenmont; brothers, James Nicholson of Frederick, Md. and Jerry Nicholson of Palmyra, Va.; and grandchild­ren, Sarah Pascale of Ludlow, Mass., Gregory Pascale Jr. (Dasha Sidoryuk) of Russell, Mass. and Meredith Grace Pascale of Glenmont.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 6, at 2 p.m. in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Colonie.
