How it happened

-

A back-and-forth defensive battle was the story until CMU coach Jim Mcelwain, in his debut, called for his offense to go for it on 4th-and-4 from the 22-yard line. Dormady threw a strike to the end zone to redshirt freshman Tyrone Scott for a 7-0 lead with 4:43 left in the first quarter.

Just as Ualbany was making its first move into enemy territory, Mofor fumbled at the CMU 40-yard line. Shortly after, four seconds into the second quarter, Dormady dropped in his second touchdown toss to Scott to nab a 14-0 lead.

Once Ryan Tice’s 50-yard field goal made it 17-0, the Great Danes found life on offense.
