Biggs wins revote in Cohoes primary
Defeats Donovan by seven votes for Democratic line
Official results posted by the Albany County Board of Elections show Adam Biggs the winner of Tuesday’s redo of the Democratic primary for a Cohoes council seat.
By just seven votes, Biggs defeated Kathleen Donovan for the right to be the Democratic candidate for the Common Council’s Fifth Ward in November. The result was 256-249 for Biggs, according to the tally completed on Thursday. Three write-in votes were also cast.
The new election was needed after a poll worker in the June 25 primary mistakenly allowed nondemocrats to vote at the Holy Trinity Parish Center’s polling place. The result of that election was a tie: Each candidate had 286 votes.
Biggs will go on to face Republican Christopher Davis.
