U. S. Soccer was misleading when it asser ted some players for t he women’s nationa l team made more money t han t heir male counterpar ts, t he women’s tea m players sa id in cour t documents f i led Monday.
The players say in t he documents t hat t he men’s pay would have been fa r g reater i f t hey ’d had t he sa me success on t he f ield as t he women.
The f i ling was a response to a U. S. Soccer motion opposing t he players’ request to cer ti f y a lawsuit seek ing equitable pay as a classaction. The women asked a cour t last month to include a l l players ca l led up to t he nationa l tea m, which could increase t he class to more t han 50 players.
