She’s 100 and ‘always on the go’

It’s her signature phrase: “Hello there, how are you today, deary?” She’s a social butterf ly, greets everyone with a bright smile and enjoys her morning newspaper and taking walks. Pretty good for someone born in 1919. Helen I. Uline turned 100 on Sept. 30, a milestone marked by surprise parties with the family and at Wesley Health Care Center, where she’s been since last October. Here, town of Milton Councilman John Frolish presents Helen with a town proclamati­on. Helen lived in Ballston Spa and Milton for 99 years. The oldest of seven siblings, she attended school in Ballston Spa until 11th grade when she left to help support her family. Helen was counted on in many ways to help with the daily chores of the household including watching over her younger siblings, family members said She retired from the Ballston Spa Knitting Co. after 44 years. Siblings, Leonard Uline of West Nyack and Arlington Uline, Jr. of Ballston Spa stay in close contact, along with daughter Carolyn, of Largo, Fla. . Helen has always been an avid traveler, traveling cross country with her brother, Leonard and trips up north, to county fairs and restaurant­s or just rides with her brother, Arlie. Helen loves to go to Stewart’s for coffee every Saturday with family members and out to dinner on a monthly basis. “Helen’s laughter brings joy to all around her
