SUNY Poly prof receives $625,000
SUNY Polytechnic Institute professor Woongje Sung was awarded $625,000 from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Advanced Manufacturing Office for research into how to reduce the costs of making silicon carbide-based power electronics devices. The research is being done in partnership with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Silicon carbide switches are used in electric cars, wind turbines, airplanes and other devices.
