A medical ‘office of future’
Insurer CDPHP behind facility that will house multiple practices
Local health insurer CDPHP has finally been able to break ground on its new medical center it is building in Clifton Park along with several specialty doctor practices.
The facility, located at 1785 Route 9, will have many centralized patient services, along with just one patient check-in area for all the practices, a cafe, pharmacy and lab along with a patient education center and community room and a telemedicine “hub” for patients. CDPHP is not revealing the costs of the project.
The practices that will be located at the new facility are Albany ENT & Allergy Services, Albany Gastroenterol
ogy Consultants, Capital Cardiology Associates and Capital District Renal Physicians.
“This will be the doctor’s office of the future, and CDPHP will be the glue that holds it together,” CDPHP CEO Dr. John Bennett said. “The past three months have been a difficult time for our community and we are grateful this project has moved forward. Together with our physician partners,
CDPHP looks forward to redefining the patient experience in the Capital Region and beyond.”
While the practices will remain independent of one another, CDPHP is providing all of the back-office services and add-ons such as the telemedicine capabilities to free up the doctors’ offices to focus on caring for patients.
“This is a remarkable opportunity to transform health care delivery in the Capital Region to optimize the patient experience, lower cost, improve access and efficiency, and most importantly, improve outcomes, driven by a clear vision and collaboration to support quality, independent medical practice,” said Dr. Gavin Setzen of Albany ENT & Allergy Services.
CDPHP had to cancel a formal groundbreaking ceremony due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The building is expected to be completed in next spring.
