Soto youngest NL batting champ

21-year-old finishes at .351 mark; Alonso homers twice for Mets

Juan Soto became the NL’S youngest batting champ, Trea Turner hit a grand slam and drove in seven, and the Washington Nationals closed out the season with a 15-5 victory over the New York Mets on Sunday.

Soto finished with a .351 average.

The Cardinals will be the fifth seed in the NL and will open a three-game wild-card series at San Diego on Wednesday. The Brewers will face the topseeded Dodgers in L.A. starting Wednesday.

Wil Myers homered in the second for San Diego, which eliminated San Francisco, and will be the NL’S No. 4 seed when it hosts a threegame series against St. Louis beginning Wednesday.

The White Sox dropped to the No. 7 seed and will play the A’s.

Reds 5, Twins 3 (10): Tucker Barnhart and Eugenio Suarez had RBI singles in a three-run 10th, and No. 7 Cincinnati will play No. 2 Atlanta. Minnesota clinched its second straight AL Central title and will host No. 6 Houston starting Tuesday. dodgers 5, angels 0: AJ Pollock homered twice and the NL West champion Dodgers completed a three-game sweep.
