Saratoga Hospital Volunteer Guild recently donated $180,000 as part of its continued support for three hospital projects: “smart” IV pumps, expansion of the cardiac and interventional suite, and renovations to Saratoga Community Health Center.
The gift was presented by Terry White, Saratoga Hospital Volunteer Guild president, who emphasized that guild members are determined to continue their steadfast support for the hospital despite COVID -19.
Albany Medical College will receive a $50,000 grant from St. Baldrick’s Foundation, which provides funds for childhood cancer research, to help support a clinical research associate to ensure that more kids can be treated on clinical trials.
First New York employees, members and the community have collected more than 10,000 rolls of toilet paper for Catholic Charities Tri-county Services, an agency made up of five food pantries and two soup kitchens, as part of its annual drive. The donation was scheduled to be made Friday.
Guilderland Public Library is collecting homemade holiday cards up to 5-by-7 size for clients of Community Caregivers. Drop them off in the designated box at the curbside table during curbside hours through Dec. 16. No envelope needed.
On Wednesday, Dec. 30 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., the Bennington Museum invites the public to drop off a non-perishable food item or a personal care item (toothpaste, diapers, etc.) to the museum courtyard. They will be given to a local non-profit organization serving our neighbors in need. Part of Bennington Museum’s Family Day.
Assemblyman Chris Tague joined members of Schoharie Kiwanis on Dec. 7 on behalf of Sen. Jim Seward and U.S. Rep. Antonio Delgado to honor the club with recognitions from Assembly, State Senate, and the House of Representatives commemorating their 70th anniversary and honoring them for the work they’ve done to serve and improve the Schoharie community.
Tague presented the club’s 70 years service award to longtime member and Kiwanis Vice President Michael Langan and also honored Bruce Palmatier and Perry Kane for their 40 years of service to the club and Gene Amedio for his 50-year history with Kiwanis.
