Schenectad­y rallies to beat Colonie

Michael Rivero makes five of six free throws in fourth

Damari Holder scored 18 points, Jahsean Haggray added 14 and Michael Rivero made five of six free throws in the fourth quarter to lead Schenectad­y over Colonie 57-55 in a Suburban Council matchup Monday night.

Rivero helped the Pats rally in the fourth after trailing 44-41 after three.

Elijah Johnsen had five of his eight points in the fourth for Schenectad­y.

Ashon Wright scored 21 for Colonie.

More boys' basketball: Josh Rodriguez scored 16 points, including three 3-pointers, and finished 5-for-7 from the line as Troy used a furious fourth quarter to hold off CBA 4942. Hagen Foley scored 17 to lead CBA . ... James Collar scored 34 points, including four 3-pointers and 10-for-12 from the free-throw line, to lead Gloversvil­le past Johnstown 62-48 in a Western Athletic Conference matchup. Braden Jones led the Sir Bills with 21 points, including four 3-pointers . ... Tyler Eddy scored 15 points, Isiah Eckler scored 14, including three 3-pointers, and Hoosic Valley held on to beat rival Hoosick Falls 55-52. The game featured a matchup of father and son coaches Mike Lilac (Hoosic Falls) and Alex Lilac (Hoosic Valley), with son Alex getting the better of his dad for the first time. Jake Sparks scored 20 for Hoosick Falls.

Girls' basketball: Mizel Fowler scored nine points, Angelina Clark added eight and Canajohari­e topped Fort Plain 40-31. Erin Crouse led Fort Plain with 11 points, and Sarah Florian added eight for the Hilltopper­s . ... Maddisyn Mahoney scored 16 points and Sole Carrington added 11 as Shaker topped Burnt Hills 54-34 in a Suburban matchup. Callie Chevalier and Reeghan Neary scored 11 for the Spartans.
